Artwork Guidelines
How to prep your artwork so it prints, embroiders, or engraves exactly the way you imagine.
Preferred File Formats By Technique
DTF, UV DTF, Sublimation, DTG
Best: Vector — SVG, AI, EPS, PDF. Good: High-res PNG with transparent background at 300 DPI, sized to final print size.
Embroidery
Best: Vector — SVG, AI, EPS. Embroidery is limited to about 15 thread colors and prefers bold shapes. Fine detail under 3mm may lose fidelity.
Laser Engraving
Best: Vector — SVG, AI, EPS, DXF. Convert all fonts to outlines before sending. Grayscale raster images are OK for photographic engraving.
3D Printing
STL, OBJ, or STEP files. Watertight geometry preferred. We can validate and clean up files (design fee applies).
Do This And Get Great Prints
Vector When Possible
Vector art scales cleanly. Raster (PNG, JPEG) works at high resolution but not below 300 DPI.
Outline Your Fonts
Convert text to outlines/paths so we don't need your exact font files installed.
Match Print Size
Provide art at the final print size — a 12in-wide chest logo should be delivered at 12in wide, 300 DPI.
Color Modes & Matching
Color Modes
Full-color methods (DTF, Sublimation, UV DTF) use CMYK+White. Embroidery uses a limited palette matched to thread colors. Engraving is monochrome tonal.
Pantone Matching
We match Pantone colors as closely as the process allows. DTF and sublimation reproduce a wider gamut than embroidery.
Black on Dark
Solid black artwork on dark fabric requires a white underbase — no problem for us, just be aware it changes the hand-feel slightly.
Artwork FAQ
I don't have my logo in a vector file — can you still print it?
Yes — send whatever you have. Our team can typically vectorize a clean logo for a modest fee ($25–$75).
Do you offer design services?
Yes — we can design event logos, monograms, and custom illustrations. Standard design fee $75/hour.
Can you recreate a design I saw online?
We can produce your own artwork or artwork you own the rights to. We won't recreate copyrighted or trademarked material owned by others.
What resolution should raster art be?
300 DPI at the final print size, minimum. If you're not sure, upload the highest-resolution version you have and we'll advise.
